About the Book

If cancer doesn’t like the playing field in your body, it will retreat. The most potent defenses against cancer are within our own control, and grow right in nature’s backyard. “Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food,” advocated Hippocrates 2,000 years ago. Tea is the most studied anti-cancer plant. Over the past 10 years, more than 5,000 medical studies have been published on the health benefits of tea, with over 1,000 of those focusing specifically on tea and cancer. The National Institutes of Health’s stance on green tea is that research indicates it to be possibly effective against many afflictions, including several types of cancer, clogged arteries, osteoporosis and Parkinson’s disease. It also states that it’s likely safe for adults to drink five cups a day.
This book is about why you should pursue a powerful five-cup a day tea habit, and how to do this without turning your life upside-down or your wallet inside-out. Part 1 of the book is a basic primer on both cancer and tea chemistry. In becoming well-informed on the powers of the tea leaf, it helps to appreciate the seriousness of the cancer beast on a cellular level, as well as how our immune systems work. Part 2 is intended to convey practical information on why it’s best sense to make your own tea, how much and when to drink it, and how to make this change to your routine effortless and straightforward. Part 3 presents additional anti-cancer actions and the teas that can help on the journey toward achieving your best possible state of immunity. In Part 4 of the book are the “How-to’s” - help in choosing your first teas and a plan you can follow for guidance to get into the tea-fit groove, more advanced information on teas (for once you’re hooked!) and some recipes that will help you pull tea into your diet.
